House 4 Sale

Finally getting the dump in shape to sell. Please let me know of any good luck charms or ceremonies that work to sell it, hopefully at asking price. I don't want to move, but I don't have a passle of kids to help me with chores either. De-clutter, de-stress, bike more.

Sat old man ride

Big group for the old man ride on Sat. Glover, mike c, runkle, nord, linda, todd, new guy jacob?, kurt and josh. We did Spruce Creek to Huntingdon Furnace then to Glovers for a camo beer! 65 on my computer with 3:30+ ride time (17.8ish). My butt wasn't sore! I was tried though. Not used to the enduro stuff yet.

Speed Ride 3/18

My mountain bike was broke so I decided to roadie it and do the speed ride. My emphasis was on the 'ride' part as I wanted to get plenty of pedal spinning in. I am not speedy on a good day. I had to hustle to get to the meet point - about 20 people where already there. Then MF, richie, and strauber rolled in. I knew it was going to be trouble. We headed off and I wasn't use to riding fast and rotating ccw so I just stayed in the back. The route was actually different because a bridge was out on 45 so we took tadpole. At the first roller I knew the back was bad. Like an accordian the front slowed down, the field compressed, and I had to brake going up the roller then beat like heck to catch the expanding front of the pack. After this was a downhill that everyone crushed except the guys in the back, we just got lost contact and tried to catch back on. No luck. I worked with another guy until he disappeared then caught a mini-group at dry hollow. They didn't do it so we went back - the pace was a little too casual so I headed off on my own and did some extra mileage as I wanted to do 40+. Pretty good ride, ending up doing 43 at a 18.8 pace. Most of it by my lonesome! Once I get speedy and/or the bridge on 45 gets fixed I'll give it another go.

f'in glasses

Yeah, it was late. I was having a blast scouting firewood in Black Mo. 10 minutes to darkness, not on trail, mile+ away from car. No problem, I've been running lately and this is FUN! Until the right lens falls out of my glasses. I can't find it, low light, must get out of woods soon or I'll have problems finding my way. I start running with one hand over my eye. This sucks! I have no depth perception and my arm quickly tires from holding it over my eye. I make it back to a footpath - only a few hundred yards more. Ahh, the car! It's dark, now I drive about 45 mph home cause I can't see! This sucks. I need Lasik. I need it bad. Needy.

Memorial Ride for Tussey

Sadly, Big D's lab, Tussey, died of complications due to Lyme disease. She was 9. She was an awesome dog and really part of the Mark family. She will be missed. I went down to Frederick to visit. Darius put together a ride in honor of Tussey. We even received memorial photos of the poor puppy. The ride was great and allowed us to see her resting place - in the woods where she loved to roam and play. Sorry for the sentimental leaning - I loved this dog!
